raillery
Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Your voice and videos stay on your device. raillery lets you create dubbed films without uploading your recordings to the developer.
1. Scope and developer
This policy applies to the raillery iOS app, provided by Yasin Şimşek under the Genlumio name. It explains data processing in the app, visits to this policy website, and support requests you choose to send us.
2. Information processed on your device
raillery does not require an account. We do not operate a server that receives your recordings or videos, and the app has no advertising or cross-app tracking tools. RevenueCat provides purchase services and purchase analytics as described in Section 4; this means some purchase, identifier, and technical data leaves your device. raillery does not upload your recordings or videos to us or RevenueCat. Sharing that you initiate is described in Section 5. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
The following information is processed and stored in the app’s local storage to provide the features you choose to use:
- Audio and video: microphone recordings, approved dialogue drafts, imported portions of videos you select, previews, separated background audio, and finished dubbed films.
- Library and progress: scene titles, recording dates and durations, favorites, character story progress, daily scene completion, and rhythm comparison results where available.
- Preferences: your haptic feedback setting, selected app language, and player names you enter when playing with friends. A player name does not create an online account.
Audio separation runs on your device using a model bundled with the app. Your audio is not sent to an AI service, and we do not train models on your recordings. Rhythm and audio trace features are not used to identify you, create biometric voice profiles, or transcribe your speech.
3. Microphone and video selection
Microphone: permission is requested when you first choose to record. Recording starts after a countdown. An active recording is cancelled if the app goes into the background. You can revoke microphone permission at any time in your device’s Settings; you will then be unable to make new voice recordings.
Photos and Files: the app accesses only the video you choose through the system picker and does not request access to your entire photo library. The original video is not changed. If you select a video stored in iCloud or with another file provider, that provider may need an internet connection to download it to your device, and its privacy terms apply.
Save Video: if you choose Save Video in the iOS share sheet, iOS may request permission to add the exported video to Photos. This is add-only access and does not let raillery browse your photo library. Copies saved to Photos may sync through iCloud Photos if you have enabled it.
4. raillery+ purchase
raillery+ is a one-time, lifetime in-app purchase. It is not a subscription and does not renew. Payment is collected by Apple through your App Store account. We do not see or store your card or billing details; Apple’s Privacy Policy applies to the payment. We do receive the purchase information listed below.
The app uses our data processor RevenueCat to load the offer and price, verify purchases, unlock raillery+ features, restore purchases, prevent purchase fraud, and provide purchase history and sales statistics in the developer dashboard. RevenueCat starts when you open the app, so identifier and technical data can be sent even if you have not purchased raillery+. Depending on the request and whether a purchase exists, this includes:
- Purchase information: the purchased product, purchase date, price and currency, App Store transaction identifiers, and storefront country.
- Identifiers: a random app user ID generated by RevenueCat and the device identifier iOS provides for this developer’s apps (identifierForVendor, or IDFV). The app does not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Technical information: app and SDK versions, device model, iOS version, language preferences, storefront, the IP address used for the connection, and service connection times. The SDK also reports the current iOS tracking-authorization status; the app does not request tracking permission or use it for advertising.
The app does not send your name or email address to RevenueCat and has no login account. RevenueCat calls its generated identifier an “anonymous App User ID”; it still lets the service associate requests and purchases with the same customer record, so it does not mean that no data is collected. The app does not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking. Your recordings, videos, library, and player names are not sent to RevenueCat.
RevenueCat processes and stores service data on our behalf, including in the United States. Purchase records are retained as needed to maintain lifetime access, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and meet applicable legal obligations. Deleting the app removes its local data but does not automatically delete purchase-service records. You can contact us to request access to or deletion of records we can identify as yours; we may need limited purchase information to locate them. Restoring a purchase can create a service record again. Apple manages its own transaction history and refund requests.
5. Sharing and other services
If you choose to share or export a video, it is transferred to the app or destination you select in the iOS share sheet. raillery does not automatically publish videos or operate a public sharing server. The destination’s terms and your choices govern how the exported copy is stored and used.
The app has no shared space where users publish content. Your responsibilities for rights to imported content and sharing are explained in our Terms of Use.
Source and license links in the app open third-party websites when you choose to follow them. Those websites operate under their own privacy policies.
Depending on your device’s analytics sharing preferences, Apple may provide developers with aggregated usage information and diagnostic reports. This is separate from an analytics SDK embedded in the app. See Apple’s App Analytics & Privacy notice for details and available controls.
6. Retention, deletion, and backups
Library content stays in local storage until you delete it or fully delete the app from your device. Approved recordings for unfinished character stories are kept so you can continue later. Their draft audio is removed when you reset the story or successfully save its completed film to the library. Temporary processing files are cleaned up during normal cancellation and completion flows; the system may later remove temporary files left after an unexpected interruption.
- Delete a take: open it in My Films and use the delete option.
- Delete an imported scene: touch and hold it under Scenes → My videos and choose delete. This does not delete a previously completed dub made from that scene; delete that separately.
- Delete all local data: use iOS’s Delete App option. Offload App may keep the app’s documents and data.
raillery excludes its local media and library folder from iCloud device backup and does not provide its own cloud backup or synchronization service. Device preferences and exported copies may be subject to the operating system’s or your selected service’s backup rules. Export any films you want to keep before deleting the app.
Deleting content in raillery does not delete the original video in Photos or Files, or copies you previously sent elsewhere. As the developer, we cannot access or remotely erase your device’s library or recover deleted recordings.
7. When you contact support
If you email us, we process your email address, message, and any attachments you voluntarily provide to respond to your request and resolve the issue. You do not have to send audio or video to receive support. Please avoid sharing personal information that is not needed for your request.
Our email service provider may transmit and store this correspondence. We retain it only as long as needed to handle your request, complete related follow-up, and meet applicable legal obligations. We do not add you to a marketing list. You can request deletion using the contact address below.
8. When you visit this website
These static pages do not use cookies, analytics scripts, advertising pixels, contact forms, or third-party fonts. However, the hosting provider may process standard server logs, such as your IP address, requested page, access time, and browser information, to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. Retention of these logs depends on the provider’s service settings and policies.
This website traffic does not upload audio or videos from the app. You may also send website-related privacy requests to the contact address below.
9. Your choices and rights
You can change device permissions, delete local content, and stop sharing voluntarily. Depending on the law applicable where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold, restrict or object to processing, and contact the relevant data protection authority. Contact us to make a request. We will not ask for more identification information than is necessary to respond.
We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through a support message, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If the app or our data practices change, we will update this policy and the date above. Where required, we will also notify you of material changes in the app and request the relevant permissions.
